Beliefs
We believe that the Bible is the only authoritative and error-free source for doctrine. We believe that Jesus is the center of Scripture and the only way to eternal salvation, and that the Holy Spirit uses the gospel alone in Word and Sacraments (Baptism and Holy Communion) to bring people to faith in Jesus as Savior and keep them in that faith.
The Wisconsin Evangelical Synod ( WELS ) which we are part of has many useful resources on their website.  Here you can also find a very detailed "question and answer" section in addition to general information, publications, and internet media.
As Lutherans we are of course very close to Martin Luther, one of several leaders of the Reformation and author of both the "Small" and "Large" Catechisms.  One of our members, Don Butler, has a website that he's maintained for several years on Luther's writings.  If you'd like to get a good feel of Martin's theology and the basic beliefs of our church, feel free to browse Don's website.
